Woven Grass French Hook Earrings with Cubic Zirconias Earrings Measure 3.5'' x 1.5''
The art of weaving golden grass (syngonanthus nithens) was passed on to the poor communities of the region known as Jalapao by the Brazilian native people of the Xerente tribe. The Xerentes used to weave baskets and hats out of the stem of the flowers of the plant for domestic use. With the help of government and privately funded organizations that promote entrepreneurship, those communities have started producing eco friendly ornaments, earrings, bracelets, rings, purses and other things. This has greatly improved income and living quality to the hundreds of families in one of the poorest regions in Brazil.
